Human Resource Metrics
Survey & Benchmarking
Methodology
|
|
The HR Metrics Center's dynamic online survey provides human resource professionals with human capital benchmarks for over forty important human resource metrics covering a variety of topics including recruiting, productivity, retention, benefits, compensation and training.
Survey
The HR Metrics Center's dynamic online survey is created by HRMC LLC's team of professionals and is reviewed on occasion by both internal and external professionals with expertise in human resources management, surveys, metrics and benchmarking. The survey is referred to as "dynamic" since new and existing members continually elect to create new HR metrics for their organization, which feeds the benchmarking data pool generally leading to increased data reliability. Members create HR metrics entirely online at the HR Metrics web site.
Participants
The primary source of data for human resource benchmark results is from members. When members build an HR metric their calculated metrics are aggregated with other organizations to create benchmarks. Metrics from individual organizations are never revealed. At times the HR Metrics Center supplements member data with other studies that meet our professional standards to help ensure valid benchmarking results.
HR Metrics Center's members work for U.S. based companies and are primarily human resource professionals or professionals that play some role in HR management for their organization. All members must register with a valid corporate email address.
Quality Control
The HR Metrics Center checks data for accuracy on an ongoing basis. This includes looking for inconsistencies, inaccuracies and for data that is significantly outside expected norms. On occasion the HR Metrics Center will directly contact a member organization to verify data validity and to ensure consistent completion of HR metrics. Data that is not satisfactorily verified with a member organization is not included in benchmark results.
Reporting
With Star membership, benchmark data is available for each metric created by a member. Reports are available with data sets of all organizations, industry type or company size.
Industries breakdowns include: Construction; natural resources and energy; Education; Entertainment; Media and Broadcasting; Finance, insurance and real estate; Healthcare; Leisure, hospitality, and food service; Manufacturing; Professional and business services; Other services; Retail and wholesale trade; Technology; Transportation and warehousing.
Company size breakdowns include staff ranges of: 1-100; 101-1,000; 1,001-10,000; 10,001 or more.
Star Members may also create year over year comparisons of their organization's human resource metrics.
